Anyone can make biochar!

Biochar is for free, but only few farmers know about it. It is FOR FREE, that is why only few farmers know about it. Companies promote their fertilizers to make money. If you make biochar, you will need less fertilizer. That means less money for the companies.

Noone earns money by promoting biochar… so noone is promoting biochar. Let’s change that: Share these instructions in your Facebook and WhatsApp Groups… Invite your friends to join!

1. Making Char

  • Watch this video to learn to make char: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIbGkmt1VdE
  • Use any dry biomass like wood, corn cobs, nut shells… Extinguish the char before it burns to ash!
  • If you don’t want to make char, you can use charcoal. Charcoal dust or powder are very cheap!

2. Adding Nutrients

  • The nutrients you add will be stored in your soil!
  • Pour water on the char until it can’t absorbe more.
  • Mix the char with any manure in the ratio 1:1.
  • Let it sit for 14 days.
  •  Alternative: Use the char as a bedding for your livestock. The biochar takes up liquids, nutrients and prevents smells!

3. Using Biochar in Your Soil

  • Make holes for your plants, add your biochar.
  • Make sure the biochar is as deep as the roots will be.
  • Cover the biochar with soil and plant on top of it.

Benefits

  • Habitat for microbes
  • Counter-acts acidic soil
  • Stores water and nutrients

Biochar is very porous. The pores act as a storage for water and nutrients. It keeps them available to your plant roots in the top soil. You will need less irrigation and fertilizer… while getting higher crop yields!

Biochar is a soil enhancer. This means it permanently makes your soil better for all plants!
